Remembering back all those years, I must have first met Ken in the '70s when I lived in Mendota, through our shared interest in gardening and coops. At some point, through Janese, I was introduced to and enchanted by Wartroot, where I visited many times when I lived in the region and in Knoxville. Then from Louisville, with husband Kyle and daughter Alice, I visited in Bristol when all of our kids were young and growing, of course going to Wartroot on those visits! We were always warmly welcomed and loved! On my most recent trip a few years ago, I saw Ken in his Wartroot element. He gave me the grand tour of his gardens, a wonderful memory.
